Feast your eyes on this…

I had an opportunity to look through a copy of this book over the long weekend. I feasted my eyes and fed by soul. And now I want a copy of my own.

It’s “Shoot” by Peter Brew-Bevan. You may not know his name, but you will most certainly have seen his work. In this book you get to read Brew-Bevan’s pre- and post-shoot notes from photo sessions with some of the world’s most famous people. And with its variety of paper types and finishes, this book is as good to feel as it is to read. Gorgeous imagery goes with out saying. Of course.

You can pick up a copy a good bookstore near you, and you can visit Peter Brew-Bevan’s website by clicking here. He’s on Facebook, too, and you can go straight to his page by clicking here.

Make Mothers’ Day Matter

THIS OFFER NOW CLOSED

DO YOU SOMETIMES GET TIRED OF THE COMMERCIALISM of our ‘calendar’ events like Christmas, Easter and Mothers’ Day?

I do.

So I’ve decided to make a change this year. Read on to find out how.

As a mother myself, I know the elation of delivering a healthy baby. I also know the fear of the unknown, the worry about what will happen if something goes wrong during labour… and I had the luxury of giving birth in a private Sydney hospital surrounded by expert care. Women in Ethiopia aren’t so fortunate and have little or no access to obstetric care. If they are among the 5% of women worldwide who suffer obstructed labour, they are often in excruciating pain for several days. They almost always lose their babies and are usually left with dreadful internal damage that leaves them completely incontinent, continually leaking urine and fecal matter. They are shunned by their communities, considered too filthy to be part of village life.

But there is hope.

Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia treat obstetric fistula patients free of charge thanks to the generosity of people around the world, people just like you and me who know the joy…and the pain… that motherhood can bring.

Let’s make a difference this mothers’ day.

$600 is all it takes to fund a fistula operation and restore a life. From today until the end of May 2015, $50 from every couture session booked will be donated to Hamlin Fistula, so that’s just 12 sessions and one of these beautiful women will be healed. PLUS your mum will receive a fabulous mothers’ day gift (and she might even share it with you, if you’re lucky!) So spoil your mum this mothers’ day, knowing that you’ll be making a difference in the life of a woman who really needs your help.

New offering: Corporate Mini Sessions

Who are these sessions for?

These sessions are perfect for people who:

  • just need a few quick shots
  • want to do their hair and makeup themselves, or who don’t want hair and makeup done at all
  • need a consistent (but not matchy-matchy) look across their team’s profile images
  • do not have enough time for a full shoot
  • can wait until a day of scheduled mini sessions to have their shoot

Who are these sessions NOT for?

These are not for people who

  • want my team to supply hair and makeup services
  • need styling advice in preparation for their shoot
  • want to do corporate shots and then some glamour portraits as well
  • would like to create several different looks
  • want to share a full girls’ day out with their mum, their sister or best friend
  • have a particular time frame in mind for their session
  • need a customised shoot to match the style of their business

Yes, the sessions are on 1st April 2015. No, that’s not a joke. Spots are limited, and will fill quickly, so call today to reserve your place.

Note: My corporate sessions are usually $595, and my images start from $175 each, so $375 for a mini session and three images is pretty good value!
