My design process

I’m a pencil and paper girl.

Always have been, and probably always will be. I love to write old fashioned letters by hand and pop them into the post, and I keep a paper diary. The first draft of my PhD dissertation was written by hand, with pencil, on the back of scrap paper, and I literally cut and pasted paragraphs from one page to another with scissors and a stapler. OK, so maybe that’s not really “pasting” so much as “stapling”, but you get my point.

So it’s not a surprise, then, that when I’m designing something for print, it often starts looking like this:
