Stay connected people. The old fashioned way.

How gorgeous is this gift set of personalised stationery? It’s from Inkspot Workshop. I’m a sucker for beautiful writing paper…. well almost any kind of cute stationery, actually. The thrill of looking at colour pencils, erasers, notepads that I used to feel as a 5-year-old girl has never really left me. So when I found this beautiful set on Etsy the other day (I was working, really I was!), I thought I just had to share them with you.

Before we were married, my husband and I spent a little over a year living in different countries. He was in Australia and I was studying at uni in Japan. According to my kids, this was way back in the dark ages. There was no Facebook, no Skype. Actually no email. Not even the internet! So how did we keep in touch? We wrote letters to each other.

The old fashioned way.

By hand, with pen and paper.

Then we went to the post office, bought a stamp, put it on the envelope with ‘lick and stick’ (the old fashioned way!) and posted it.

The old fashioned way.

It took a week or so to reach its destination.

It was tough, but it was good, too. We got to know each other in a way we otherwise never would have. And now we’ve been married for 20 years (yep, TWENTY), so it doesn’t seem to have done us any harm.

The moral of the story? Write more letters!

This set comes from Inkspot Worksop on Etsy. If you’re looking around for gorgeous stationery, why not try shopping there?  You don’t even have to leave your desk, at least not until you have to go to the post office and buy a stamp. 😉
